The Brief
To create a water surrounded environment offering an appealing human habitat.
The Concept
To work with the American landscape architects, engineers, architects and ecologists to implement the first marina in Africa.
The Challenge
Poor soil with a high saline content, a high water table and strong salt laden winds provided an intimadating challenge.
The Implementation
A nursery was established to cater for the project whilst dreging, civil works and building was in progress.
Timing
Construction took place in phases with hard and soft landscaping complete in phase 1.
The whole site was transformed into a natural, verdant waterway surrounded by attractive scenic vegetation whilst making allowance for individual tastes arnd requirements.
